Coronation Ceremony

The Majestic Danube goes back into time hundreds of years in the month of September each year for the ‘Coronation Ceremony’. The main cast of this largest cultural event in Slovakia is in hundreds. The magnitude of this event is spell binding. And, it has to be. Travelers and tourists get an opportunity over three days to experience the crowning ceremony of a former Hungarian King in St. Martin’s Dome. One can take part in the royal procession to gain an experience of a lifetime. Apart from that it is also an opportunity to watch the dubbing of the knights of the Golden Stirrup and witness the royal oath. To top it one gets to join in the grand feast as well. The magnitude of the event can be gauged from the fact that there are over 200 actors in costumes along with over 150 artisans.

Wine Tasting Day
In mid-November each year a unique event takes place. During the days of the event known as “The day of Open Cellars” up to 79 wine cellars along the small Carpathian wine route open their doors to the public. This is the time when everyone gets an opportunity to sample the wide variety and quality of wines produced in the beautiful vineyards of the equally beautiful region. This adds to the charm and exquisiteness of the event.

Cruise on the River Danube
The months from April to September are ideal for taking a cruise on the hydrofoil express boat making it a popular trip event while on leisure holiday in the region as well as otherwise. The chief attraction of this trip event is that the journey takes about one and a half hours to complete giving travelers and tourists an opportunity to spend a day in the centre of Vienna. One can make use of the time to shop and go sightseeing in the famous city and embark on the return journey to be back in time for evening dinner!
